Colostrum 70/40® is a bovine colostrum that provides Growth Factors and Immune Factors, which are essential for building lean muscles, enhancing performance and for wound or tissue repair. As people age or after strenuous exercise, bodies produce less of the immune factors needed to ward off disease and infection. So extra efforts, like Colostrum 70/40®, can help support the immune system. Colostrum 70/40® also supports the intestinal tract by coating it with a mucous-like barrier which reduces the chance of foreign substances penetrating the wall of the intestine.

Description

Colostrum 70/40® is a bovine colostrum that provides Growth Factors and Immune Factors, which are essential for building lean muscles, enhancing performance and for wound or tissue repair. As people age or after strenuous exercise, bodies produce less of the immune factors needed to ward off disease and infection. So extra efforts, like Colostrum 70/40®, can help support the immune system. Colostrum 70/40® also supports the intestinal tract by coating it with a mucous-like barrier which reduces the chance of foreign substances penetrating the wall of the intestine.

Colostrum 70/40® is specially prepared through our advanced techniques to remove the casein and lactose, and it is carefully tested to confirm that the final product contains less then 1% casein and less than 1% lactose. This concentrated colostrum provides a minimum of 40% IgG, the principal immune factor found in colostrums, and contains 70% protein.

What does Colostrum 70/40® do?

  • Increases the number of circulating white blood cells (which protect the body from infection)
  • Elevates antibody levels (antibodies are proteins that fight infection)
  • Contains 40% Immunoglobulin G antibodies (which are produced by white blood cells during an immune response)

Suggested Use

  • 3 capsules daily on an empty stomach with 8oz of water, or as otherwise directed by a health care provider

Warnings

  • Keep out of reach of children
  • Consult a physician before using if pregnant or nursing
  • Use this product as a food supplement only
  • Do not use for weight reduction

Commitment to Quality
The bovine colostrum powder used in Proper Nutrition products is produced from pure bovine-origin colostrum liquid collected from controlled, healthy Grade A dairy herds. These dairy herds are of U.S. origin and are fed diets free of animal products, antibiotics and hormones. Proper Nutrition does not use colostrum from European or New Zealand sources, and BSE has never been detected in the U.S. PNI’s colostrum ingredient is produced in cooperation with La Belle, Inc., in state-of-the-art facilities located in Washington and California and registered with both the California and Washington State Licensing Divisions as food processing facilities. These production facilities meet the requirements of the 1994 Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act, using GMP and HACCP procedures. They are also registered USDA establishments for the preparation of veterinary biological (pharmaceutical) products.

All incoming colostrum liquid is quality control checked for pH, total solids, and specific gravity. This Q.C. check assures that only the best liquid colostrum is used to produce the spray-dried powders.

High quality colostrum contains a variety of active immunoglobulins and antibodies for many pathogens that affect all mammals. The active antibodies for Escherichia coli, Salmonella spp., Helicobacter pylori, Clostridium spp., and Staphylococcus spp. have been identified. The activity of these antibodies and antiviral agents has been confirmed using Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA).

The immunoglobulin activity of colostrum in Proper Nutrition products is measured using the latest Radial Immuno Diffusion (RID) technology. Immunoglobulin G (IgG) is the principal antibody found in colostrum and includes the subclasses IgG1 and IgG2. IgG1 makes up approximately ninety-percent of the total IgG content in colostrum. IgM and IgA are also found in colostrum. IgM is the first class of antibodies to appear after an antigen invades the body. IgA is the next major class of immunoglobulins found in colostrum. IgA serves as a first line of defense against bacterial and viral antigens. IgA is transported across epithelial cells to be found in intestinal tract mucus, bronchial mucus, saliva and tears.

Every lot of colostrum used in Proper Nutrition products is assayed for IgG content, microbiological contamination (total plate count, coliforms, Salmonella spp., Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, and fungi), moisture, fat, protein, antibiotics, total carbohydrates, ash, bulk density, and scorched particle. Particle size testing is also included on every produced lot of colostrum used.
